Virginia House of Delegates Speaker William J. Howell (R-Stafford) issued the following statement on the results of Tuesday’s House of Delegates primaries.
“Congratulations to Delegate Chris Head, Mark Dudenhefer and Chris Collins on their victories tonight. Chris Head has been a valuable member of the House of Delegates. I look forward to his continued service and friendship. Mark Dudenhefer is a good friend and I’m proud of the strong campaign he ran. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise and I look forward to welcoming him back to the House. I also look forward to welcoming Chris Collins to the House. Chris Collins ran a strong campaign that highlighted his experience, desire to govern and willingness to serve his constituents. I am excited to have him as a member of our caucus. Thank you to Delegate Mark Berg for his service to the Commonwealth.
“I also want to congratulate Paul Krizek, Mark Levine, Lashrecse Aird, Lamont Bagby and Steve Heretick on their victories. I look forward to serving with each of them in the House of Delegates.
“Finally, I especially want to thank Delegate Johnny Joannou for his service to Virginia. Johnny has always been a strong and independent voice in the House of Delegates. He was respected on both sides of the aisle. I will always consider Johnny a friend and wish him well in the future.”
