House Republican Leader Todd Gilbert issued the following statement:
“Robert Bloxom, Sr., was a remarkable man who led a remarkable life of public service. A long-time member of our House Republican Caucus, he was a statesman who worked tirelessly for his constituents on the Eastern Shore. Virginia’s first Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, he dedicated his life to the service of his community and Commonwealth, a trait he passed on to our current colleague, his son Del. Robert S. Bloxom, Jr. Most importantly, he was a devoted husband and father. Our Commonwealth was a better place for his efforts, and is now diminished with his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat, Rob, Lee, and the entire Bloxom family.”
