House Republican Leader Todd Gilbert issued the following statement on the passing of Del. Frank Hargrove:
“Frank Hargrove was a Virginia institution. In the House of Delegates, he was a legend, and I was honored to serve with him during the short time our tenures overlapped. His was a life of service: first to his country in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II, and then to his Commonwealth in the House of Delegates.”
“Frank was never scared to speak his mind, and he was a passionate advocate for the people of his district. I got to see Frank one last time at an event in Hanover this summer, and he still had the same warmth coupled with the same crushing handshake that we all knew and loved in the House of Delegates.”
“Our Commonwealth is a lesser place with his passing, and I have lost someone I was proud to call a friend. I ask all Virginians to keep the Hargrove family in their thoughts and prayers during this trying time.”
